Temperate maritime climate. Summers are warm and pleasant (with frequent sea breezes), while winters are cold and snowy. Rain is distributed fairly evenly throughout the year.
The waters on the bay side and south (*Nantucket Sound*) are warmer in summer (around 18-21°C), while the beaches of the Atlantic Ocean (*Outer Cape*) are noticeably cold (14-17°C).
