The bus network connects the main towns, but is insufficient to explore the island. Renting a vehicle is highly recommended.
For a spectacular, less-crowded view of Hvar Town, follow the promenade west (past Hula Hula) until you reach the Amfora Hotel. The hill behind has trails that offer incredible views.
About a 2.5km walk from the end of Pokonji Dol beach is this stunning white pebble double cove with incredibly turquoise waters and a small taverna. An adventure with a reward.
The city has implemented fines for walking in a swimsuit or shirtless through the old town. Dress appropriately when you are not on the beach.
Sea urchins are found on many rock and pebble beaches. It is highly recommended to use water shoes or water shoes.
