Dress Code: Kuwait is a conservative Muslim country. It is recommended to dress modestly, covering shoulders and knees in public. Women do not need to wear a veil, but it is mandatory to enter the Grand Mosque (where appropriate clothing is provided).

Social Etiquette and Respect: Same-sex greetings are common, but avoid physical contact with the opposite sex unless they offer their hand first. Public displays of affection are frowned upon. During Ramadan, it is illegal to eat, drink or smoke in public during fasting hours.

Photograph: Be careful when taking photos. Always ask permission before photographing people, especially women. Photographing government buildings, military and oil facilities is prohibited.

Tips: Tipping is not a general or mandatory practice, but it is appreciated for good service. In restaurants, 10-15% is adequate if service is not included. For porters or service personnel, a small amount is enough.
