The KTEL bus network connects Chora to the main towns and beaches, but to really explore the island you need a vehicle.
Beyond the popular Plaka, the beaches of Mikri Vigla (ideal for kitesurfing), Kastraki and Glyfada are quieter, wilder and more spectacular.
For an unforgettable dining experience, drive to a village like Filoti or Apiranthos at night. The taverns serve incredible quality meat and local produce at very low prices.
