Traveler Tips

Essential advice and local insights to make your trip memorable and safe

Safety Tips

  1. Beware of Exchange Booths ('Crown Change')

Use only official bank ATMs or exchange money inside banks. Some street kiosks apply abusive exchange rates hidden in the fine print.

  2. Pickpockets in Nightlife Areas

Keep bags worn across your body and belongings watched on Flower Street and at the bus stops toward Nesebar, especially at night.

  3. Official Taxis and Negotiation

Make sure the driver turns on the meter or agree on a fixed price beforehand. Taxis parked in front of nightclubs usually charge much higher fares.

  4. Nightclubs and Inflated Bills

Be wary of street promoters who invite you for free shots at hostess bars or unfamiliar clubs with no price list in sight.
