I've been there!Explora el fascinante pasado de london y descubre cómo se ha desarrollado a lo largo de los siglos.
Founded by the Romans as "Londinium" around 43 AD, it became an important commercial port. Following the fall of the Roman Empire, the city was largely abandoned, but was resettled by the Anglo-Saxons and grew in importance.
The medieval period saw the construction of the Tower of London and Westminster Abbey. After the Great Fire of 1666, the city was rebuilt. During the 18th and 19th centuries, as the capital of the burgeoning British Empire, London became the largest and most influential city in the world, a center of the Industrial Revolution.
Although severely damaged during the Blitz in World War II, London was recovered and reestablished. The "Swinging Sixties" cemented its status as the capital of youth culture. Hosting the 2012 Olympic Games stimulated significant regeneration, and today London remains a multicultural and economic powerhouse.
