Tips for Adventure

Climb Radio Hill

For the best sunset view, climb the hill where the radio tower is located behind the church. It offers a complete panoramic view of the city, the mountains and the sea.

Explore beyond the Plaza Mayor

Get lost in the less busy streets, away from the main square. There you will find local life, children playing soccer and scenes of daily Cuban life.

Night on the Stairs

Spending at least one night on the steps of the House of Music is mandatory. Buy a mojito, sit back and enjoy the amazing music and dance atmosphere.

Tipping is your way of saying thank you.

A little extra for the musicians, waiters or staff at your casa particular is very meaningful and a direct way to support local people.

Bring your own medicines

Don't expect to be able to buy even the most basic medications. Bring a complete first aid kit with you.

Wear Sturdy Footwear

Trinidad's cobblestone streets ('cobblestones') are beautiful but very uneven and slippery when wet. A good pair of closed-toe shoes is essential.

Trinidad is extremely safe

You can walk around the city at any time without worries. The people are friendly and the atmosphere is small town.
