An annual 12km race that's more of a giant costume party than an athletic competition. Thousands of costumed people tour the city from the Bay to the Pacific Ocean in an eccentric and very San Franciscan event.

A huge three-day free music festival in Golden Gate Park. Despite its name, it features a wide variety of musical genres, from bluegrass and folk to rock and soul, in a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

An annual tribute to the US armed forces. The highlight is the spectacular air show over the bay, starring the elite Blue Angels squadron. There are also ship parades and tours of warships.
