Je l'ai déjà été !Explora el fascinante pasado de Lakes y descubre cómo se ha desarrollado a lo largo de los siglos.
Originally a settlement of the Awori people called Eko, Lagos became a key port. In the 15th century, the Portuguese named it 'Lagos' for its network of lagoons, later becoming a center of transatlantic trade.
Under British rule from 1861, Lagos grew as an administrative and commercial center. After independence in 1960, it experienced a massive population explosion, establishing itself as the nerve center of West Africa's oil and financial industry.
Although it ceased to be the political capital in 1991, Lagos has transformed into a global technological hub (Yabacon Valley) and the epicenter of the African entertainment industry, projecting its influence through Nollywood and music.
