Le meilleur de Maldives
Expériences uniques
Sleep in a Villa over Water
It is the iconic Maldives experience. These structures allow you to wake up to the sound of the waves beneath your feet and directly access the reef from your private terrace. Many resorts offer glass floors to observe marine life without leaving the room, redefining the concept of integration with the environment.
Diving in Baa Atoll (Biosphere Reserve)
Declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO, this atoll is famous for Hanifaru Bay, where hundreds of manta rays and whale sharks gather to feed between May and November. It is one of the best places in the world for watching marine megafauna in a protected environment.
Dine below sea level
The Maldives is home to several of the world's few underwater restaurants. Dining five meters below the surface, surrounded by glass walls that show the coral garden and the passage of colorful fish, is a sensory experience that combines haute cuisine with the wonder of the ocean.
Discover Local Life on Inhabited Islands
Since tourism was allowed on local islands, destinations like Maafushi, Dhigurah or Thulusdhoo offer a real insight into Maldivian life. Here you can stay in guesthouses, visit historic mosques, watch artisans work wood, and enjoy pristine beaches at more affordable prices.
Observe the 'Sea of Stars'
On islands like Vaadhoo, the phenomenon of bioluminescence transforms nighttime beaches into a mirror of the starry sky. The phytoplankton glow an intense blue when stirred by the waves, creating a magical natural spectacle that seems straight out of a fantasy movie.
Picnic on a Sandbank
Being transported by boat to a small bank of white sand that disappears at high tide is the ultimate expression of privacy. The resorts organize private gourmet lunches where the only witnesses are the sun and the infinite horizon.
Flavors of the Ocean and Coconut
Maldivian cuisine, known as Dhivehi Kaana, is a cuisine of survival and creativity based on what the environment offers: fresh fish (mainly tuna), coconut in all its forms and starches such as rice and taro.

Tuna as the Protagonist
Yellowfin and skipjack tuna are the basis of the diet. It is consumed fresh, dried (maldive fish), smoked or processed into pastes, providing a unique umami flavor to almost all dishes.
Influence of Spices
Due to its location on historic trade routes, Maldivian cuisine incorporates curry, ginger, cinnamon and chili peppers, creating aromatic and spicy dishes similar to those of South India and Sri Lanka.
Plats Iconiques
Mas Huni
The traditional breakfast par excellence. It is a mixture of shredded tuna, grated coconut, onion and chopped chili. It is served with Roshi (a roti-like flatbread) and hot tea.

Que voir par thème
Maldives is not a single destination, but a thousand destinations in one. Each atoll has its own personality and natural attractions.
Malé: The Densest Capital in the World
A vibrant island-city that contrasts with the peace of the resorts. Highlights include the Friday Mosque (Hukuru Miskiy) built from carved coral in 1656, the bustling fish market and the National Museum, which houses treasures from the country's Buddhist and Islamic era.
Ari Atoll: Diving Paradise
Divided into North and South, it is famous for its legendary dive sites such as Maaya Thila. It is the best place to spot whale sharks all year round and has some of the most established and luxurious resorts.
Kaafu Atoll: Accessibility and Surfing
It is the atoll that surrounds the capital and the airport. It includes popular islands such as Maafushi and the country's best surf breaks such as Pasta Point and Sultans, which attract surfers from around the world between May and October.
Vaavu Atoll: Canal Adventure
Known for having the deepest channels and strongest currents, it is ideal for experienced divers looking to see large schools of nurse sharks and pelagic life on night dives.
Addu Atoll: The Historic South
Located below the equator, it offers a unique geography where the islands are connected by bridges that can be covered by bicycle. It has a strong British influence due to a former RAF base and coral reefs that did not suffer from bleaching.
Conseils de voyage
Religion and Norms
Maldives is a conservative Muslim country. Alcohol and pork are prohibited outside private resorts. On local islands, you must dress modestly (shoulders and knees covered) and bikinis are only permitted on designated 'Bikini Beaches'.
Transport
Transfer between islands is by seaplane (expensive but fast and scenic), speedboat, or public ferry (cheap but slow). Seaplanes only fly during the day (before 16:00-17:00).
Sustainability
Collecting coral, shells or sand is strictly prohibited. It is recommended to use 'reef-safe' biodegradable sunscreens to avoid damaging the reefs and minimize the use of single-use plastics.
Currency and Payments
The official currency is the Rufiyaa (MVR), but the US Dollar (USD) is accepted almost everywhere. At resorts, all charges are charged to the room and paid by card at the end of the stay.
Maldives is a destination that redefines natural beauty. Whether you're looking for total seclusion in an ultra-luxury resort or a cultural adventure on a local island, this archipelago will change your perspective on the ocean. We recommend you plan your transfers in advance and choose the atoll that best suits your interests (diving, surfing or relaxing). Paradise awaits you!
