Je l'ai déjà été !Explora el fascinante pasado de Bruselas (Bruxelles / Brussel) y descubre cómo se ha desarrollado a lo largo de los siglos.
Founded as a small fortress in the 10th century on an island in the River Senne, Brussels grew to become an important commercial center, especially known for its tapestries.
Its golden age was under the rule of the Dukes of Burgundy and later the Habsburgs, becoming a prosperous capital. In 1830, the Belgian Revolution began with riots following an opera at the La Monnaie theatre, which led to the independence of Belgium with Brussels as its capital. In the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the city was a hotbed of artistic innovation, becoming the cradle of the Art Nouveau movement under architects such as Victor Horta.
After the Second World War, Brussels was chosen as the headquarters of what would become the European Union and NATO, consolidating its status as an international capital. Today, it is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world, a center of politics, business and culture that welcomes people of all nationalities.
