Je l'ai déjà été !Explora el fascinante pasado de Trinity y descubre cómo se ha desarrollado a lo largo de los siglos.
Founded in 1514 by Diego Velázquez, it was one of the first seven towns in Cuba. Its initial isolation changed dramatically in the 18th and 19th centuries, when the city accumulated enormous wealth thanks to the production of sugar in the nearby Valley of the Sugar Mills, a system based on slave labor.
The sugar fortune financed the construction of the opulent mansions and palaces that still define the city today. When the sugar industry collapsed, Trinidad was economically isolated, a twist of fate that froze its architecture in time and saved it from demolition and modern development.
It remained a forgotten town for much of the 20th century. This isolation was its salvation, and in 1988, UNESCO recognized its exceptional state of conservation by declaring it a World Heritage Site along with the Valle de los Ingenios. Since then, it has become one of the most captivating destinations in Cuba, attracting travelers seeking its beauty and authenticity.
