In 10 days: Cape Town (4–5) with Peninsula and winelands, then safari (3) via Johannesburg–Kruger or a reserve closer to the Cape, plus buffer. Don’t stack Cape + Kruger + Durban + Drakensberg + full Garden Route.

Days 1–4

Cape Town

Table Mountain (cable or hike), Waterfront or respectful Bo-Kaap photos, beaches (Camps Bay), and a Peninsula day (Cape Point / Boulders penguins).

  • Wind cancels the Table Mountain cable — have Plan B (museum, winelands).
Days 5–6

Winelands or Garden Route lite

Stellenbosch/Franschhoek (wine + food) or 1–2 nights toward Hermanus/Knysna without forcing 800 km.

  • Designated driver or tour — drink-driving enforcement is serious.
Days 7–10

Safari & return

Flight to JNB + Kruger/Sabi or a nearby private reserve. Morning/afternoon game drives. Return with buffer to the international flight.

  • Self-drive Kruger needs time and skill — lodge with drives is simpler in 3 nights.

Enter/exit Cape Town; air link to Johannesburg for Kruger. Alternative: Western Cape safari (shorter, less dense Big Five).
