In 7 days: Dubai (4) + Abu Dhabi (2–3) with one desert day. Don’t stack Fujairah + RAK + Sharjah + every tower.

Days 1–3Dubai with context
Old Dubai (Creek, Al Fahidi, abra), one skyline/beach (Marina or JBR), and one slow day without three paid attractions in a row.
- Balance Creek + one modern icon — you don’t need Burj + Frame + Fountain the same day.
Day 4Desert (half-day or sunset)
Safari with a serious operator: dunes, sunset, lite dinner. Avoid the full pack that leaves you wrecked for Abu Dhabi.
- Morning or sunset > full day if travelling with kids or in strong heat.
Days 5–7Abu Dhabi
Grand Mosque, Louvre Abu Dhabi, Corniche or Qasr Al Watan lite. One museum day + one city/coast day. Return to DXB if flying from there.
- Mosque dress code: shoulders/knees covered; light layers and water.
Practical
Getting around
Metro + Careem/Uber in Dubai; bus or car to Abu Dhabi (~1.5 h). Rental helps if combining Corniche + museum same day.
Where to stay
Dubai: Marina/JBR or Downtown · Old Dubai for Creek · Abu Dhabi: Corniche / Saadiyat.
Rules & respect
Alcohol only where allowed; thoughtful photos at religious sites; no overt PDAs in public.
Food
Shawarma · machboos · meze · brunch. Local cafés and markets > mall food court only.

Full day in Old Dubai
Creek, abra and historic quarters balance the skyline.
Malls only
One AC mall is fine — three shopping days is not a trip.
Louvre or mosque first
In Abu Dhabi pick one serious cultural anchor and leave room for the Corniche.
