Belonging to the province of Krabi, Koh Lanta (mainly made up of Koh Lanta Yai) is one of the most balanced and welcoming islands in Thailand. Unlike the bustle of its neighbors Phuket or the Phi Phi Islands, Koh Lanta retains a slow pace of life with more than 25 kilometers of coastline on the west coast full of serene bays. It stands out for its cultural diversity - where local Muslim communities, Chao Ley marine fishermen and Chinese descendants live together -, its picturesque wooden old town (Lanta Old Town), and for housing the Mu Ko Lanta National Park at its southern end.
