Je l'ai déjà été !Explora el fascinante pasado de seattle y descubre cómo se ha desarrollado a lo largo de los siglos.
Seattle has been inhabited for approximately 4,000 years by indigenous peoples, primarily the Duwamish and Suquamish tribes. The name 'Seattle' comes from the indigenous chief Si'ahl (Chief Seattle), leader of these tribes that inhabited the region before the arrival of European settlers.
In the mid-19th century, early European settlers, led by Arthur A. Denny and the so-called Denny Party, established permanent settlements in the area in 1851. In 1853, David S. Maynard proposed naming the town after the local Indian chief. During the early modern period, Seattle grew rapidly thanks to its port and lumber industry, becoming a key center for trade and expansion into Alaska and Asia.
In the 20th and 21st centuries, Seattle established itself as a technological hub with the arrival of companies such as Microsoft and Amazon. The city is also recognized for its music scene, especially the grunge movement of the 1980s and 1990s. Today, Seattle faces urban challenges such as housing affordability and sustainable growth, implementing comprehensive plans for equitable and ecological development, while maintaining its global and cultural relevance.
