In the south of the island of São Tomé, within the Obô Natural Park, the Cão Grande Peak emerges abruptly, a colossal spire of volcanic rock with a 370-meter vertical drop above the base of the jungle (663 m above sea level). The official currency is the Dobra (STN), which has a fixed exchange rate linked to the Euro (1 EUR ≈ 24.50 STN). The use of international credit cards is extremely restricted (they are only accepted in some luxury hotels in the capital and Príncipe).
