Crea recuerdos inolvidables con toda la familia en Andorra la Vella, un destino lleno de actividades para todas las edades.
Andorra la Vella, the state capital located at the highest altitude in all of Europe (1,023 meters), is a vibrant mountain city nestled in a narrow Pyrenean valley where the Valira del Norte and Valira del Oriente rivers converge. World famous for its duty-free shopping dynamism ('The Shopping Mile'), its impressive granite architecture, its ancient Romanesque churches and its immediate proximity to the largest ski resorts in southern Europe, the city fuses urban modernity with the rugged charm of the Pyrenees.

Sunset at the Rec del Solà
Climb the Rec del Solà trail an hour before sunset to watch the golden light illuminate the valley and the slate roofs of the capital with the relaxing sound of the water canal at your feet.
The Thermal 'Secret' of Escaldes
In Plaza de Santa Anna (a 10-minute walk from Meritxell), visit the Metge public thermal spring where natural sulfur thermal water flows at more than 70°C.
Identity and Language
Although Spanish and French are in widespread daily use, greeting with a 'Bon dia' (good morning) or saying 'Gràcies' in Catalan is a sign of courtesy highly appreciated by locals.
Extended Business Hours
Shops and department stores open uninterruptedly from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (until 9:00 p.m. on Saturdays and in high season), closing only four holidays a year (January 1, March 14 -Constitution Day-, September 8 -Our Lady of Meritxell- and December 25).
Health Assistance and Travel Insurance
The European Health Card (EHIC) is not directly valid in Andorra without previously processing the Social Security form (flyer E/AND-11 for Spaniards) or taking out private travel insurance.
Excellent Quality Water
The tap water comes directly from melting snow and high mountain springs; It is 100% drinkable, fresh and of very high purity.
Beware of Telephone Roaming
The main unforeseen problem for travelers in Andorra is data roaming: European and Spanish operators apply very expensive rates per megabyte outside the EU if you do not turn off data roaming.
Customs Exemption Limits
When leaving Andorra for Spain or France, the Civil Guard and French customs services inspect vehicles; There are strict tax-free limits per person (tobacco: 300 cigarettes; alcohol over 22º: 1.5 liters; general purchases: maximum €900 per adult).
