Travel advisory

In high season (July-August) it is essential to book accommodation, ferries and flights well in advance. Meltemi winds can be very strong in summer, occasionally causing ferry cancellations. Be careful with prices in the most touristy areas of Mykonos and Santorini; always check the menu before sitting down. Although cards are accepted in most places, it is advisable to carry some cash, especially for small towns and traditional taverns.

Best time
The best time to visit the South Aegean is in **spring (April-June)** and **autumn (September-October)**. During these months, the weather is warm and pleasant, ideal for exploring and enjoying the beaches without the summer crowds. **Summer (July-August)** is the high season, with a very lively atmosphere, but also with higher prices, greater influx of tourists and strong winds (Meltemi). **Winter** is very quiet, with many tourist services closed, but offers a more authentic glimpse of island life.
