Je l'ai déjà été !Explora el fascinante pasado de Bremen y descubre cómo se ha desarrollado a lo largo de los siglos.
The origins of Bremen date back to a settlement on a dune on the banks of the Weser. Its importance grew exponentially when Charlemagne made it the seat of a bishopric in 787, laying the foundations for his future religious and commercial power.
During the Middle Ages, Bremen flourished as a key member of the Hanseatic League, a powerful trading confederation. In 1646, it achieved the status of an Imperial Free City, consolidating its independence and its role as an important port for the trade of products such as coffee, cotton and tobacco, which gave it great wealth.
Despite suffering serious damage during the bombings of World War II, the historic center was carefully rebuilt. Today, Bremen, together with its port of Bremerhaven, forms the smallest state in Germany. It is an important industrial (Mercedes-Benz), aerospace (Airbus), scientific and logistics center, which has known how to preserve and celebrate its valuable historical heritage.
